Our History

South Hialeah Elementary - The First School in Hialeah
South Hialeah Elementary was built in 1923 and first opened its doors on February 14, 1924.
The original structure of the building is mostly intact today as you can see from the Google Satellite Image that the rotundas still exist as well as all the arches. The school seems to have started as L-shape building, then becoming a U-shape, and then in recent years was closed off to form a nice courtyard surrounded by most of the original structure of the school. And in that courtyard is a giant ficus tree that is just about as old as the school itself. Then to the west of the original structure you can see all the modern day additions to the school.
